  The American Portuguese Podengo Pequeno Club

Mission Statement

 

The purpose of the American Portuguese Podengo Pequeno Club (APPPC) (known here as the Club) is to encourage and provide education in the breeding of purebred Portuguese Podengo Pequeno’s of both coat varieties in accordance with the APPPC breed standard and to represent the Portuguese Podengo Pequeno with the American Kennel Club as the Parent Breed Club.

The APPPC will do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the Portuguese Podengo Pequeno and to encourage sportsman-like competition in dog events. The APPPC will promote the qualities of the breed to its membership and the general public through communications, publications, educational seminars, and positive approaches.

The APPPC is dedicated to the promotion, showing, breeding and advancement of the Portuguese Podengo Pequeno towards AKC recognition through special events, educational programs, as well as championing research to health related issues.

Constitution

Article I: Name and Objectives

Section 1: Name. The name of the club shall be the American Portuguese Podengo Pequeno club, also known as the APPPC.

Section 2: Purpose. The purpose of the American Portuguese Podengo Pequeno club.

 

Objectives of the APPPC are:

a)       To encourage and promote quality in breeding of purebred Portuguese Podengo Pequeno’ among its members and educate the general public about the breed.

b)       To encourage the organization of independent local Portuguese Podengo Pequeno Specialty Clubs in those areas where there are sufficient fanciers of the breed.

c)       To accept the Standard of the APPPC as approved by the members of the APPPC as the only standard by which the Portuguese Podengo Pequeno shall be judged.

d)       To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed and to encourage sportsman like competition at dog shows, obedience trials, tracking trials, agility trials and Lure Coursing events.

e)       To conduct matches, a yearly National Specialty and Portuguese Podengo Pequeno educational Events.

f)         To establish a web site and publish information and educational materials about the Portuguese Podengo Pequeno for both the General Public, breeder and Judges.

Section 3: The Club shall not be conducted or operated for profit and no part of the profits or remainder or residue from dues or donations to the Club shall incur to benefit of any member or individual.

Section 4: The members of the Club shall adopt and may from time to time review bylaws as may be required to carry out these objects.
